TV's are often used in prisons as a distraction method. When it comes to TV in prisons they are locked to certain channels and can't be changed unless changed by the engineer who installed the unit. Watching TV in prison is seen as a luxury for the inmates.
the prison service has said inmates can only watch tv in their cells as a condition of good behavior. Some inmates of privately run prisons are given access to sky TV pay channels, while those in publicly-run prisons are restricted to Freeview channels.
Our job here in one vision is to work closely with highland services to install the systems that are used in prisons, We install a specialized unit that only allows the tv to be locked onto one channel at a time. This is unchangeable unless you have it changed on the main head unit and this can only be changed by the engineer who installed the unit.
Below are some of our ongoing/completed projects inside prisons.
TDH 800
In prisons, we use a system called a TDH 800 headend. This basically allows you to configure a channel to a specific output that gets installed into the unit.
